Polytechnic Elementary School - Aug 15, 2008.

Message from Mrs. Bullock
Our first week of school has proven to be very successful! I am sending home a map and a note describing our drop off and pick up procedures.  Please look over this carefully.  I ask each family to follow the procedures carefully.  Our most important focus is the safety of all the children.  We also need to follow agreements made between University Public Schools and the City of Mesa.  We also want to be good neighbors to the businesses within the complex.
Calendar
Sept 1 – No School
Sept 11, 12 – ILP Conferences No School
Sept 18 – Parent Forum
Allergies

We have some students in the first/second grade cluster with severe allergies.  We ask that if at all possible please do not pack any food items that have any type of nuts.  We also ask you not to pack anything with eggs.  However, we understand that some children are limited in what they will eat.  If you do pack items that have these ingredients, the lunch boxes will be placed in the hallway until lunchtime.  The students with these items will go to the third/fourth grade cluster to eat their lunch.  If they would like to bring a friend with them they are welcome to do so.   If these items are eaten in the classroom, the smell alone could cause an allergic reaction and that is why we are removing the food.  Our goal is to

keep all of our students safe and also not make anyone feel bad in any way.  Thank you for all your support and understanding in this process.
Uniforms
Thank you to all the parents and students who have done a fabulous job following our uniform policy!  All the students look awesome each morning!
