Relationship to ASU
University Public Schools is a 501c3 educational organization and an affiliate of ASU. The entity has access to ASU resources, but is legally separate from the university.

Purpose
As an affiliate of ASU, University Public Schools links university resources with preK-12 schools in Arizona to establish an innovative, research-based educational environment that promotes student achievement and preparation for a global society.

Access to ASU Resources
University Public Schools has access to university resources for the purpose of assisting University Public Schools in delivering innovative educational programs to preK-12 students through Centers of Educational Innovation.

School District Collaborations
When a school district enters an agreement with University Public Schools, the collaboration is between the school district and University Public Schools, a 501c3 corporation. It is INCORRECT to state the school district is in partnership with ASU.

Selection of School Districts
School districts are selected by University Public Schools based on a series of criteria, not by ASU.

School Operations
As a 501c3 non-profit, University Public Schools will operate the Centers of Educational Innovation with the guidance of any partnering school district. University Public Schools also will hire and manage teachers and staff. It is INCORRECT to say that ASU will operate the centers and/or employ the teachers and staff of the centers.
